The holidays overflow with cookie platters, wheels of triple crème cheeses, and Kinetix Free Targets. It’s great when you can plan your free targets around upcoming holiday events, but sometimes the amount of parties may outnumber your Free Targets.

Here are a few helpful suggestions to keep you on track this holiday season.

Offer to bring a Kinetix dish to holiday gatherings. With all the great tasting recipes we offer, no one will be the wiser.
Check out these fast and easy cocktail party recipes:
Hot Crab and Artichoke Dip, K3
Spanish style Roasted Shrimp and Peppers, K5, but a K3 as an appetizer for 8!
Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms, K1.
Do not arrive to the party hungry! Nine out of 10 of us will overeat if we skip meals. Our bodies are designed to eat every few hours. Eat a K-balanced snack before a party and you will arrive in control of your appetite and actually eat less.

Fill up on K0 vegetables. Most parties include the obligatory crudités platter-this is a great time to fill up on low calorie, high fiber snacks. These foods will help you feel full and leave less room for high-calorie, tempting treats.

Use a small plate and sit down to eat.
You are less likely to overeat if you can see everything at one time and no hovering near the buffet table! Remember, cows graze not humans!

Limit your alcohol intake to one or two drinks.
Calories from alcohol add up quickly, particularly if you are consuming mixed drinks. Wine is your best choice and make sure you eat some kind of lean protein when drinking alcohol.

Donate food gifts to a food bank
, because helping someone else this holiday season is the right thing to do and you don't like summer sausage and fruitcake anyway.

Be a social butterfly. Holidays are the time to be sociable. Spend time enjoying the company of friends and family. The more you talk, the less you eat!

Happy Holidays and Buon Appetito!

I brought Pumpkin Muffins to my last staff meeting and everyone loved them! Just double the recipe and bake in a 9x13 pan. Then cut into K1 pieces. They look beautiful on a glass or ceramic plate and are a healthy treat that is also filling.

Great tips, Holly. I love those recipes...and your advice for not going overboard on the food and beverages. One other tip I use - I keep my glass filled with water most of the time. One or two glasses of wine and then water.
