Flipping through the channels last night and landed on Oprah . . . caught my eye at first cuz I was wondering what the heck Kirstie Alley was doing on the show again (oh, and the nails, lordy)? She lost a bunch of weight and then gained it all back, plus some. Then they had a Michael, a man who has lost and gained 3,000 lbs!!!! Wow. It was really rather sad. He has lost some of the weight again now, but had to be forklifted out of his house so that he could go to the hospital!! Amazing.

What did all this make me think? SCREW DIETS! They do not work. Do you really want to lose it all and then gain it back? It is all about lifestyle, not being on and off programs. And thank God for Kinetix!

Live it for Life!

All my love,
~Heather

So true. I listen to friends say I am on weight watchers, again. Or doing South Beach, again. When I ask why they always respond with how much they lost the first time. Never occurs to them that they gained it back, every time. People just don't get it. They're looking for the magic bullet, but there is none. Just commitment, knowledge and a willingness to change and lots of accountability.

Good for you Lorie! And yes, great thoughts here everyone. I didn't see this Heather, but saw a brief commercial tease & thought I might try to go out of my way to catch it. Alas- duty & life called :) All I can say is thank goodness for the sensabilities here in Kinetix. Seriously. I like Kirstie but I think she is a bit "teched in the head"- I cannot speak for people who have dieted on and off for years- but the answer I believe is really simple- don't diet ,change your lifestyle- maybe that does not sound so easy but if you want to be healthy then it is that easy. I know what I did to gain weight- and I know I cannot live like that if I do not want to be heavy. I am a big believer in responsibility- I did this to myself- not my childhood- not the bad things that have happened to me- I have done this. I accept responsibility for it- and I - me - I will fix this. No magic pill- no man- no woman-no one but me. I will get off my soapbox- but I can say I am grateful to kinetix. This program came into my life when I was ready for it 100% and that is what I am putting into it.

I agree Heather! I feel badly for Kristie Alley and others like her that just don't get it yet. I cringe to think what all the yo-yo dieting is doing to her body, let alone her self-esteem. It's all about changing your lifestyle and sticking with the right decisions and guidelines...with plenty of fun FTs thrown in!
