I got the best news today: I lost the challenge...to Lisa.
YAY!
She will look so cute on her own zip banner. I can't wait to see it. When she said in her blogs that she had never finished a challenge before, and that she had not ever considered setting sub 20% body fat goals for herself, I was like, "This girl has to be pushed. She has to do this. She has to win this challenge." So, every bit as much as I wanted to win, I really wanted to see her win too. I even voted for her for first and second place! She says I helped her out. That feels good. I like that I had something to do with helping such a dear sweet person as coach Lisa to help her find the champion within! She takes such good care of others, it was awesome to see her taking such good care of herself.
The challenge was really a great experience for me in a lot of ways. I wrote in my blogs all the time how the motivation to get my own banner was propelling me through the tough times of trying to hit 19 and 2 every week. I wrote about how learning to cook and eat real food was the best experience; that I could trust carbs again, after having lost a lot of weight on diets before.
But the best part of all was walking in the shoes we put out for our clients. Coach Jeremy said it was a good experience for him, if only to be able to say that we wouldn't ask our clients to do anything differently than we would do ourselves. WORD up, Coach Jeremy!
I am 100% glad that I did the challenge. And I like the yoga suit picture Thor took of me. And I loved being part of the team, during the challenge. I am happy that I took good care of Greg while living with him, cooking the recipes and dining out less frequently, hitting the weights together in the evenings.
Anyway, cheers to you, Lisa. I am so very happy to say that you are my friend.
And I am super happy to say that you are the 2009 Kinetix Challenge Champion!
