Welcome fellow Kinetix pilgrims and pioneers, daredevils and danger seekers, to the first of what promises to be many Coach Ben Adventures. Today marks a pivotal turning point in the Kinetix Community as it signals the day that I, the humble and handsome Coach Ben, have decided to begin the monumental task of chronicling my many tales of thrilling exploration and whimsical exploits!

In honor of this historical day, I have decided to retell what could be considered the most harrowing and spine-tingling of my many journeys in hopes that you, my brave and noble readers, may learn from my experience and tread not the same treacherous paths that I have. I implore you to read on, but only if dare…

Our journey begins in the deepest and darkest part of the Amazon jungle, a place so savage and cruel, the number of those who have survived, fewer than the fingers on your right hand! I had come there in search of a prize, so elusive its value is said to be beyond imagination, the lost Fountain of Youth! There are some among you who may be saying, “But Coach Ben, the Fountain of Youth is believed to reside in Florida not the Amazon”. To those skeptics I reply with a hearty guffaw, and a declaration that Ponce de Leon was wrong! Aye, in truth his calculations were false; he had plotted too far North and thus missed out on finding this most prized treasure. I was now set to profit from his mistake, and thanks to my extensive knowledge of history and antiquities, had now started down a path that would lead to one of my greatest of discoveries!

As I fought my way through the harsh brake of vines and bramble, continuing further and further into the depths of the primeval forest, the normal cacophony of the jungle slowly began to quell. The silence was so pure and absolute that each branch cracking underfoot seemed like a thunderclap breaking the stillness of an autumn night. My movement was slow and deliberate; each muscle of my body having a purpose, each breath calm and collected as to keep my senses keen and on edge, I did not even allow myself the luxury of wiping the sweat from my brow.

I continued to creep forward through the brush trying to remain aware of my surroundings, but alas, I had not been carful enough. For out from the jungle sprang a jaguar!! Appearing almost as if she had materialized from the forest itself! Brutal was the battle that ensued. Two of nature’s mightiest warriors engaged in ruthless combat. One armed with razor like claws and powerful jaws, her opponent with a razor sharp mind and powerful forearms. The skirmish was long and savage, two evenly matched combatants, each unwilling to surrender to the other. After what seemed like many hours, I managed to overpower the feral beast and subdue it using vines I had ripped from the canopy above.

As I sat down to rest beside the conquered wild cat, I endeavored to sooth the animal’s rage, for you see, my intention was to try and harness her strength and use her power to assist me on my journey. That however, my valiant readers, is a tale that shall have to remain untold, at least until next week’s exciting installment of “Coach Ben Adventures!”
