Have you ever found yourself counting the minutes until your workout is over? Or lately with all the nice weather, have you had a hard time concentrating while inside the gym? Sometimes we've got to spice up our workouts a bit to stay motivated and engaged.

Here are a few tips to re-engage your mind and body:

1. Remember why you're there. If you catch yourself checking your watch frequently or trying to hurry to finish a workout, remind yourself why you're there. "I am here because I chose to be. This is ME time. I am working toward my goals and this is a choice I make to be a bette version of myself."
2. Change your mode of cardio. If you usually jog or walk for cardio, go for a bike ride, use a rowing machine, or go to a dance class.
3. Take your weights outside. Grab your bowflex weights and take them to Greenlake! (Or any other outdoor location, backyards work too!) Do your strength workout in the great outdoors, its a great thing to do on a beautiful sunny day instead of being indoors.
4. Be adventurous. Even if a certain activity doesn't keep your heart rate in that target zone, doesn't mean its not a great activity! Rent a kayak for a day, go waterskiing, take a hike, or go do some yoga on a beach. There are plenty of great ways to be active and enjoy the new healthy fit body you're building!! Kinetix is all about feeling FREE to do whatever you like. Just because you can't count something as cardio doesn't mean it should be neglected.
5. Recruit a workout buddy. Workouts are always more fun with a friend. Grab someone to come with you for your cardio! The four-legged variety are great for this too!

If you're looking for another way to be active, come to the kinetix K9 hike on June 27th! It promises to be a fun way to spice up your cardio workouts and enjoy the beautiful scenery of western Washington!!!
You can send me an email for more information!

Cheers!

Hi EMily, sorry I missed this blog before! I love number one and number four. Being aware of WHY it's important to take the small amount of time necessary is paramount to being the best version of yourself,. You can't give away what you don't have, so its only fair to give toyourself so that there is more of you to put out in the world .
Number four is simply because life is FUN! The beauty of Kinetix to me is that the basic workout makes you storng enough both physically and mentally to expand your brain tio thing s you may have never thought sounded fun before,. It reminds me of that quote "What ywould you dare to do , if you knew you could not fail?"
My answers are usually wrapped around physical feats, becausee they have always made me the most fearful. That was before ... this is NOW :). Bring on the fun!

Great tips Emily! Thanks for sharing all the different ways we can stay engaged with our exercise routines. Taking it outside is especially good for this time of year - doing cardio outside beats going to the gym when the sun is shining.
