Coach Lisa

A tool to keep you from getting "all shook up"

I am not sure why, but this time of year can seem as if not more hectic as the Holiday months. Maybe it’s the Graduations, the weddings; the BBQ’s starting up, the extended amount of daylight (yay!)

With all that going on it seems as if there is a time deficit, time for planning, time to journal, time to get every workout in. With summer hitting us square in the jaw soon, it’s even more important to …
JOURNAL!

Ask anyone who is getting fantastic results with Kinetix and they‘ll most likely have a meticulous journal somewhere close by.

Why?

Journaling works! That's why it's the ninth Kinetix Principle! It's a snap shot of your life, a glimpse into how your program is progressing and a fantastic indicator of what you can expect your results to be. Here's what a few people have to say about Journaling...

"The journal doesn’t lie… you do." - Lyndsey - K-Concierge

"I hate being without a journal. I got a little cocky and tried to go without and I swear that within 2 days I had a huge backslide - I didn't eat often enough, I ate the wrong foods (the old 'if it isn't written down then it doesn't count mentality'), and I really missed it. I need my journal by my side as a physical reminder of this journey of self-improvement I'm taking. It keeps me honest and it reminds me of how far I've come."
-Andrea Armstrong

"Plan what you are going to eat, and when, and then track what you actually did... It works wonders for me. Again, it's a habit that takes cultivation, but it is definitely helpful." - Charlie Bailey

"The journal is a physical reminder of your lifestyle goals.
The journal is like having your coach on your desk (yikes)
The journal is a souvenir to look back upon, to a time when you were in (or out)
of the groove.
Looking back, you can revisit where you were mentally and practically at that time.
It is a touchstone.
There is power in goal setting.
This tool is that power manifested." Coach Danielle

"I know that once I eat something, there is a short window of recollection, then I simply forget what I ate... Journaling has been the anchor to keep all of this hard work in perspective." - Toni Schlesinger

"Oh let me count the ways......
When I thought I wasn't eating enough- my journal set me straight with meal timing.
When I thought I was totally meeting the K0 recommendations- my journal said - No you ditn't!
It's only as honest as I am willing to be."- Amanda , Kinetix Nutritionist

My Journal is a constant reminder from my 'past me', on how healthy it wants my 'future me' to be. (Although I keep trying to remind myself not to write naughty things like 'up those weights next week')
-Jen Buttolph

My journal is an amazing reality check for me. it's a mirror whose honesty is often a rude awakening, but sometimes provides a true cause for celebration. it's all about the small victories!"Deb -Director of Client Services

Some even learn about journaling 'the hard way'

"It is tangible proof that i have accomplished something. I can look at how far I have progressed with my strength training and know exactly what is going into my body, both of which makea huge difference when determining my personal success".- Coach Ben

"Write a positive thought or smile moment in your journal every day."- Coach Terry

"Journaling is so important because you can look back and see what worked, or if you get into a slump, you can quickly glance at what you've done before. (Redundant, I know) I have to see everything that I have going on, so the journal is amazing."- Fournier-Mulley

"Journaling reveals your real life experiences by detailing the small steps it took to reach a certain point or goal."-Coach Jeff

"I love my journal. It keeps me honest, it keeps me going, and it keeps me calibrated. I recently looked back at my first week on Kinetix and saw how far I have come. It was encouraging. I can't imagine my strength sessions without being able to look at the previous week."-Brandon Emerson

"Here is the common fact, he who journals is 2x more likely to reach fat loss goals.-Coach Emily

Some people are even photo journaling!

love this post! I keep a daily personal journal and journal well when I have been under the personal coach but this has encouraged me to keep my personal journal for my weight and nutrition goals beyond the personal coach time.

My Journal is: both my best friend and my worst enemy!! It keeps me focused and on target!! It really is like having my coach on my desk, table or gym bag! It keeps me honest and looks at me with silent blank pages when I don't journal.
