Are you one of the many who have been brainwashed to believe that if you eat fat, you’ll get fat? Come on, you can admit it; you’re not alone! In the past ten years, despite the fact that the American diet has seen a reduction of total calories from fat go from 42% to 34%, the obesity epidemic continues to rise. So what’s up with fat? Maybe it is not the enemy in our pursuit for a leaner body after all. In fact, fat is an essential nutrient to all lean, strong, and healthy bodies. You already know that since you have been eating K-Balanced food, but let me explain a bit…

You see, fat is a component of every cell in your body and fat helps to maintain the health of each and every one of those cells. It also helps regulate your hormones, maintain your body temperature, and insures a steady supply of energy. Here is where we Americans start to get in trouble: fat is the most energy dense of all the macronutrients. In each gram of fat there is 9 calories. Compare that to the lower energy dense macronutrients of carbohydrate and protein, where you’ll find only 4 calories per gram. Big difference! Fat has twice as many calories per gram than carbohydrates and proteins. I think 40-40-20 is ringing some bells now!

A little fat goes a long way, yet it seems to be the hardest macronutrient to get good portion control over. As long as you keep choosing Kinetix recipes to help you meet your daily K-Count, you can be sure you are getting just the right amount of fat needed to maintain that lean body and strong metabolism.
Your days of wondering if you are eating too much, too little, or even the right kinds of fat are over. We have taken great care to ensure every recipe is an appropriate balance of all the healthful mono- and polyunsaturated fats while keeping saturated fat to the absolute minimum.

Understanding that fat is not going to make you fat is a huge step toward healing your metabolism. Take another step today and search for a K-Balanced recipe that will help keep good fat in your diet and get you closer to the results you want.

This is such a great post Amanda - thank you so much!!
I tried living fat-free for a long time in my quest to lose "weight" all those years ago. All that did was make my skin bad, my hair dry and I was moody and hungry all the time!!! Little did I know at the time how important fat was in my daily nutrition.

I know that before I began K-Balanced eating , I ate A LOT of fat free foods. Then came the blessing of K-Balanced eating and Kinetix Fitness into my life. Once I had the right information about 40.40.20 things began to change
That was about 50 pounds of fat ago.
I'll never go back.
