Yes, you can definitely substitute corn oil for canola. As long as you keep the amount the same you are good to go. You can also feel free to use olive oil as well. Great question- thanks for reaching out!

I have always had a passion for food and nutrition. It is such a big part of what keeps us healthy. As the Kinetix Nutritionist I have been able to expand my interest, knowledge and excitement about this passion in ways I could not have imagined. Kinetix is an exciting team to be a part of.
I have a 21 month old and a most excellent husband who keep me quite active. After losing all the pregnancty weight I also lost alot of strength. I am stronger now than I have ever been before. I was devoted to running and yoga for most of my life, but hardly ever picked up a free weight. Now, I love strength training, some awesome coaching helps too!!
I want to keep the fitness and health I've worked so hard to acheive. I'm up for the Kinetix Challenge!

VEGETABLES FOR THE NON-VEGETABLE LOVER

A client recently came to me with this predicament. “I’m sorry, but I don’t like vegetables and I know I’m supposed to eat them - help?” Regrettably she is not alone. Unfortunately, she also lives with someone who
does not share her interest in cooking healthy K- Balanced meals. Double
whammy. So what’s a person to do?

Unfortunately, there is no magic pill that can take the place of eating vegetables. A diet containing a colorful var

8 Weeks Until Summer.........Final results!

And then in a blink of an eye 8 weeks came and went - it kind of flew right by. I actually finished up my 8 weeks a couple of weeks ago but I wanted to give you all my final thoughts, stats and maybe some insights.
Let's see, how did this all get started.......

I am a mom of 2 amazing kids. My oldest is 4 1/2 years old and the youngest is now 8 months old. My life has never been fuller or busier. It's really a very good time most of the time and I know how lucky and blessed I am. L… Continue

K-Balanced gluten and dairy free eating just got easier.

Did you know that 30 to 50 million Americans are lactose intolerant and around 3 million have some form of gluten sensitivity? How would you know if you are one of these people? Let’s start with dairy. For most people a dairy intolerance is most often experienced as bloating, accompanied by gas and indigestion. Fun! This kind of digestive upset results from the build-up of undigested carbohydrates in milk, specifically lactose. That’s right. Remember K- Community low-fat dairy is a… Continue

Hi Amanda - Thanks for these tips - I did do most of them (although I also snuck in a beer at the beer garden on Saturday night). It was great fun and I was well prepared for it. I have exchanged a couple of posts with Danielle on appropriate eating for new cyclists - seems like I'm famished and it feels like I overeat - maybe I'm just nervous about hitting the wall...still trying to figure that part out....

Amanda, Coach Danielle suggested I contact you. I am an endurance athlete (5 marathons so far in 2010) who is very active between running, biking, skiing and hiking. I typically do one of these activities for 60+ minutes/6 days a week. The 40/40/20 caloric split is probably not optimal for my goals.

I had not been doing any weight training prior to joining Kinetix and my goals are to have Kinetix augment my active lifestyle. Can you make some nutrition suggestions for me.

Thanks
John Anderson
