I am 24, just moved from Orange County CA to a tiny country town in the middle of North Carolina. There isnt much here in the way of entertainment but it sure is a lovely place to settle down and write.

He has lost 15 pounds and is almost at his target weight. It is really encouraging to be following a program that is so easy! We have no intentions of quitting. And believe me, thats a first.

Kitchen dancing never gets boring

So, I was going to update this blog a long time ago but um.. I was out running... Anyway, here comes the new update..

Last time I posted I was on the cusp of seeing that 1 in front of my weight for the first time since high school. And not only did it happen that week, it read 198. That was an amazing feeling. And so there I was standing on my scale in the kitchen dancing. And I have been dancing every week since.

This week, and Im starting to lose track of how many weeks its been- I believe t… Continue

From one step to the next

So, Ive finished 8 weeks (well actually 9 at this point) of the basic program. I had great results. I feel great and after losing 26 pounds I even look a little better too. My boyfriend and I are starting the performance program tomorrow and I'm a little nervous. I think it seems impossible to eat so much food, but I look forward to working out - Im a freak and miss cardio on strength training days... I am just wondering if I can get some advice on what to expect. I still have 34 pounds to lose… Continue

Milestone!

So when I set out on this Kinetix journey, my long, long, and I mean really long term goal was to lose 60 pounds. It seemed completely out of reach. I mean ridiculous. 60 pounds is a lot of weight, and at 5'11 my goal weight would be thin. I have never been thin in my entire life. the thought of it dumbfounds me actually. Im pretty sure that's why I've never tried to accomplish it in a serious way.

Now, after the past 6 weeks, I wake up in the morning with bursts of energy, I feel good about wh… Continue

Sugarcreek Trail

So six weeks ago, Justin and I started going to a small state park about 10 minutes away, three times a week for cardio days. We don't have a gym membership and wanted to go somewhere beautiful in hopes that it would inspire us to get those workouts done. There are a few trails about Morrow Mountain, some easier than others. The first time we went out, we just picked the first trail we saw which ended up being the easiest. No inclines really, just a long flat trail. That first day was a pain in… Continue

Hey Michelle! That is great that you and your boyfriend are doing so great with the program! Orange County to North Carolina is a big jump. I haven't had any experience in NC, but Orange County is nice! You could try looking Google for Official community websites for the town you live in. You might find something you are used to doing! Keep up the great work, please reach out if you need anything ok! Coach Jeff
