Well everyone, I will tell you the ride was great while it lasted. I don't know what happened or when but I slowly just stopped with the eating k-balanced and the weight lifting came to a complete hault. How did leg training go on Wednesday?
The beauty of the Basic Program is that it uses such functional body movements. The very foundation of yoga is how the body was desifgned to move.
Squats using body weight and lunges held for a little longer are both like warrior poses, which really strengthen the lower body.
I would recommend recruiting your abdominals as you use body weight for holding squats and lunges, executing them a little more slowly. Feel good about progressing to the use of weights as your back becomes stronger.
Remember too that the support and stability in any movement starts in your feet. I encourage you to do your squats and lunges barefoot on a mat as you get stronger.
Stick to the 15, 10, 5l 5l 10 15 rep sets, just move slowly, maybe hold a medicine ball for the 5 rep sets....
and be patient.
Best of luck!!!
