My "off the wagon" was a trip to Italy last summer for 2 weeks. I saw a sad 8 pounds in 14 days. Gain, not loss. But in the long run it was just a bump in the road. So, hop on that wagon and don't look back!

In my 40's, and have been gaining weight slowly since my early 30's. Time to reverse this, and find a long term realistic healthier lifestyle which will support all the fun things I want to do.

Update - have lost all the weight I wanted to, and now am in maintenance mode. I finally think I've found something that works long term!
My Goals:
Get back into shape - which means being able to go for a hike, and not worry in the first 20 minutes if I need to turn around before I get too tired.
Feel better about myself. Have more energy.

Update: Run my first 1/2 marathon in June, 2010

Food = Exercise. Not.

Why do we so closely link our food eating habits with our exercise habits? It seems to be all or nothing, and as if the two behaviors are interchangeable. For example, how many times have I thought “I can have the candy bar/doughnut/second serving…and I’ll just work out an extra hour (or two) to burn it off”?

Menu Planner - Grocery Store List; excel tool

It just won't work

I’ve now completed 17 weeks of Kinetix, and I think I’ve figured out why it just won’t work. I’ve lost weight (again and again) on diets, and knew exactly what effort it took to lose a pound. I have given copies of the DVD to Melissa to get to you guys. I was told they were going to be out this week but there must have been a snag getting them out there. I am sure that we are getting them moving in your direction as I type this so stay tuned! It really looks great so I really want you to have a copy to keep for yourself! You were great.

Also, We are thinking of creating a stand alone version of your story so there might be even more to see in the coming weeks and months. Look for it!
