The Great Shake Experiment

Hi there!

Ok. So Coach Gerry and Emily and I were looking over some old photos of Oprah Winfrey. Remember when she went on that liquid diet in 1991 and lost all her weight, only to gain it back in like 10 minutes? We surmised that the problem was this: that she ate so very few calories, so little protein, and that her metabolism dropped. She undoubtedly lost a whole lot of lean mass and thus reduced her resting metabolic rate. When she went back to her regular nutrition, she could not help but… Continue

Life Belongs to the Energetic

Hey there!
So I recently moved into a new apartment. I got lucky, hiring movers to unload my storage unit and deliver all my furniture and boxes, etc. and to unload it in my new place. This was Thursday at 1 p.m.

I am not exxagerating when I say that I single-handedly emptied out every single box, moved every piece of furniture and threw all my clothes, housewares, and gear into its place by 1 p.m. Saturday. And I worked 8 hours Friday, to boot!

So Greg comes by on Saturday and is astounded at… Continue

Congratulations, Coach Lisa on winning the Kinetix Internal Challenge

I got the best news today: I lost the challenge...to Lisa.
YAY!

She will look so cute on her own zip banner. I can't wait to see it. When she said in her blogs that she had never finished a challenge before, and that she had not ever considered setting sub 20% body fat goals for herself, I was like, "This girl has to be pushed. She has to do this. She has to win this challenge." So, every bit as much as I wanted to win, I really wanted to see her win too. I even voted for her for first and seco… Continue

If you are going through Hell, keep going--Winston Churchill

Hey there,

Ok, so life is pretty tough these days, huh? We are all feeling the pain. And I am not talking about Leg Day here. The flippin economic storm out there is thick. Nobody is immune.

So, tell me. How is this affecting your commitment to taking good care of yourself?

I have spoken to a lot of Kinetix Community members recently about this. For a lot of us, we are turning towards the Free Targets maybe a little more often. Some of us are missing workouts. Of course you are!

Self comfort… Continue

Thoughts on the journal

The journal is a physical reminder of your lifestyle goals.

The journal is like having your coach on your desk (yikes)

The journal is a souvenir to look back upon, to a time when you were in (or out)
of the groove.

Looking back, you can revisit where you were mentally and practically at that time.

It is a touchstone.
There is power in goal setting.
This tool is that power manifested.

Danielle,
Thanks, yes Bonney Lake is very pretty. I do love it up there. On the 15 pds, its more that I want to be toned and in a size 10. I feel I have extra layers that aren't needed. I want to stop being a slave to the scale as well. I just want to be able to feel good about how I look, what ever that weight is. So where can I start? I already do work out most days. I try to do the 10,000 steps everyday.
Thanks for your help.

Hey Wonder Woman! YOU are wonderful! Thanks for endless inspiration. :-) 5 Desert Island exercises? Leg raises, one or two calf raise, bench dip, crunches and heck, I'd do most of the others with a plastic milk jug that I'd find on the beach and fill it with ocean water!

I am very excited to get started and going on the program. What is your favorite shake? I tried the vanilla shake mix and added some strawberries with and some ice. I am going to rely on the shakes for breakfast since I am not a big fan of breakfast at all! So, let me know if you have any ideas and thanks! :O)
