And We Wonder Why the Nation is Overweight...

Check it out...The Bacon Explosion! I couldn't find the calorie content but that is probably a good thing. I had a discussion with one of my clients the other day about crazy high calorie dinners. I would say this rates up at the top. What's the craziest, blow your mind, highest calorie meal you can recall?

I almost forgot, for your viewing pleasure...

Tracking to Success!

Before you can make serious changes you need to know exactly where it is you are going. You need to have a goal! You need to be able to measure your progress and make sure you are on track to reaching your goals. Make them specific. Make sure you can measure your success, your goal is action based, challenging but realistic and most importantly time sensitive. Here is an example of two different goals.

Example 1: I am going to lose my post baby weight this year.

Example 2: By following… Continue

"The Price of Progress is in the Pain of Change"

I love it when a quote catches my eye and really makes me ponder on to the meaning or what it actually means to me. "The price of progress is in the pain of change" could have so many meanings and when I think about every aspect of my life I can say that it really hits home. When I think about it in the terms of health and fitness I know I've been through some pain. Not just the physical pain (especially after leg day) but the pain of changing old habits.

I know everyone starting the Kinetix pr… Continue

Measuring Your Progress

The numbers don't lie, right? In today's society we are ruled by the scale. The three digit number that dictates our daily actions whether it be eating (or lack there of), excessive exercise (or again maybe a lack there of) or searching for the "magic pill", may not be telling the whole story. By now you are coming to the end of the challenge and I am sure you have faced some obstacles that you either overcame or let get the best of you. If you fall into the latter, have no fear, you've fallen o… Continue

Trouble Walking After Leg Day?

I'm sure by now you can point out all the new Kinetix clients by overcrowded elevators that are acutally going "down" only one floor or you can point them out as the ones with the two handed grip on the hand rails going down the stairs or maybe it's that person who slowly lowers themselves to their chair before finally letting themselves drop that last six inches simply because they just can't hold themselves up anymore. This is a common affect of exercise to newly trained participants. This phe… Continue

David,

Good to hear things are going well. I had a few rough months in April May with bicep and knee problems. I am feeling better now and had my first full week back in the gym and actually could do some bicep curls without pain. Between the bicep and knees I was pretty much sidelined for a couple months.

Let me know when you will be back at the K-Gym and I will be sure to stop by.

Have a great w'end.
