Okay guy's & gals,
I am going to go out on a limb here and ask an off the wall question, knowing that I suspect the answer already. Does anyone out there use a Wii for their Cardio workouts. If so, can you explain? If not, can anyone tell me why not? I am curious about this as an alternative for my wife until the weather gets better.
Max...I haven't had the opportunity to try WiiFit yet, but many of my clients are using it. We are looking for 30 minutes of cardio, 3 times a week, in our target heart rate range. IF she can sustain her target heart rate using WiiFit, then yes...it is cardio!! I have clients that crank up the music and dance in their living rooms too. Others head to the mall and use that space for indoor walking. So, have your wife strap on a heart rate monitor and start moving.
And Max...do let her know that we'd love for her to join the K-Community too! I'd love to meet her on this site!!
I agree with Coach Terry, in that as long as your wife maintains a heart rate within her range for the 30 mins she can use the Wii fit or anyother program. I had a client you a did jumping jacks for a half of an hour, not the most exciting but it worked for her. :)
If you have the space, jumping rope is an excellent way to get in some cardio without have to go to the gym.
Oh my goodness, so many of my clients in Nashville used a Wii for their workouts. Look up Kelly Logsdon on the community site and she'll tell you ALL about how to make it work!!
