Nutrition is a powerful aide to help you reach your goals... not something that needs to be "un-done" in the gym the next day.

It's easy to sink into a mindset that if you eat something bad, you can work it off the next day. This simply creates a miserable battle in your head and will cause you to associate guilt with food when that is not the way it should be. It should be something you feel good about because you can watch the way it catalyzes your results from exercising to achieve your fitness and fat loss goals!!

too many times people think of exercise as penance.

this society really swings bulemic when you think about it?

Binge, workout/purge..
Mardi Gras, Lent,
Holidays/ New Years'
Lowfat/no carb
there has got to be some balance!

Great point Emily!

Likewise, we can cometimes set up bad food cycles with a kind of 'withholding' mindset using food as rewards & not enjoying our exercise, as just EXERCISE. Then comes super duper free-target looper just 'because you can'. Not the ideal way to go.

Thank goodness for the Journal & accountability with a coach!

Good thought Emily. How many times do you go into the gym and you see people working their butts off day after day only to look exactly the same 6 month, 1 year or even longer? Balanced nutrition combined with proper exercise will assure us that we won't have to fight that battle over and over again.
