If you didn't already know Starbucks launched 2 new healthy smoothie options, Chocolate Banana & Orange Mango Banana. The best part is with some simple modifications it can be a great K3 balanced snack.

Chocolate Banana - ask for it with no banana in the 16 oz size
- 266 calorie smoothie (25g protein, 29g carbs (4g fiber), 6g fat)
- if you want little kick start, it's delicious with a shot of espresso, which is calorie free to add

Orange Mango Banana - ask for it with whole milk & no banana in the 16 oz size
- 216 calorie smoothie (21g protein, 24g carbs (4g fiber,) 4g fat)

Enjoy

I agree that you really need to take the banana out, the amount of the protein & fiber blend that you would need to add would not make for a good beverage, which was why when creating this version taking the banana out was the end result.

If the banana is that important trying combining the drink with another K2 snack I think it is called PB cottage cheese, put the banana in the drink and eat the other part on the side (cottage cheese and peanut butter). But be careful it may be hard to get the barista to put the correct amount of banana in b/c that snack does not use a whole banana since bananas are carbohydrate dense fruit.

I am a Starbucks partner and am really excited to have something with Protein as an option at work... and it's free!

I can't find anything about the actual protein powder as far a nutritional info. The Ingredients on the bag lists: Whey protein isolate, chicory root extract, natural flavors, xanthan gum, soy lecithin.

Is it good for me to drink a smoothie made with nonfat milk, sugar free syrup and 3 scoops of this protein? Basically, then I am getting 12 oz. of nonfat milk and a few other calories, right?

Everyone should know that when we make these drinks, the recipe makes too much and we throw out part of your drink... makes me wonder. So, the consumer is not getting all that protein as well as all the other ingredients. I don't know if the nutritional breakdown by Starbucks is based on this waste...

Thanks,
kathleen

Hi Kathleen,

The nutritional information that Starbucks post takes into account the loss that each drink creates, so you are getting the total stated protein, etc

Thanks... folks have been saying that, but it made me wonder. I try to make it so all of the drink fits into the cup. Those drinks are more difficult to make... lots of steps and some stores don't have the room for all the new product.

Do you know what the calorie content of the protein powder is? I can't find anything... maybe you have heard...

thanks,
kathleen

Sad... why do we have to take out the banana?

Reply to This

It is a little sad but remember bananas are a fruit rich in carbohydrates (and many other nutritional goodies) so to keep all those carbs already present from the milk K-Balanced, the banana needs to step aside. Keeping the banana in the drink puts it out of the 40.40.20 Kinetix Balance.

Hi Amanda. Thanks for doing all of this checking into the nutitritional info for the Vivanno. Could you do a brief summary of making the Vivanno 40.40.20? Is it 40.40.20 with whole milk or 2% milk or nonfat milk? If the banana is eliminated from both drinks (orange/mango and chocolate), are they both K-balanced? I'm a Sbux partner and the Vivanno has definitely become a popular partner beverage. Thanks for clarifying!

Hi Tiffany! Try the Peanut Butter Banana Kinetix Shake ( k5) in the recipes finder. IT IS GOOD if you want a banana fix. Or the Chocolate Banana Shake that is K-Balanced in our recipes. That one is good with espresso thrown in. You do need to get the Shake Mix on the website, but it's less than two bucks a serving .

Love the shakes in the summer ! I am eager to try the mango orange Vivanno!!!!
That's planned for 3:30 pm, on Friday for me My free target starting gate... :-)

You're a doll and thank you! The vivanno is kinda bland to me anyway. I was very sad that I couldn't actually taste the banana... too ripe? I wonder if I can do Soy instead of the whole milk?

hmmm?

Thank you for the information Debbie. I was just wondering this as I had a chocolate banana smoothie this morning. I'll try it tomorrow minus the banana. Thanks again!

I have been sampling the vivanno and I figured the banana was too much. I am gonna try it without the banana tomorrow. The feedback from the customers is great
